Pricing · the principles

Fair, transparent,
on the website.

Money you spend on suppliers is money you're not spending on programmes. So we price ThirdSectorBee to scale with the value you get out of it, we publish the bands here, and we charge what we say we charge.

Three principles

What we believe
about charging charities.

Prices should be fair

We're committed to paying the team that builds and supports ThirdSectorBee a fair wage, and we have the usual business running costs. But we're not here to take anyone for a ride, so we'll always try to keep prices as low as possible.

Prices should be transparent

Pricing belongs on the website, not in a sales call. We charge what we charge, and we'll keep it reasonable. reasonable.

Your choice when to leave

We hope you'll stay! But if you don't there's no awkward contract notice-period. We chanrge in advance, so you're free to leave on your own terms.

What is a Weighted Contact?

Built around value,
not just the count.

Many software companies charge you the same for every contact in your database, whether that's a committed donor or someone who signed up to a newsletter eight years ago. We believe there's a better way.

We price on Weighted Contacts. Rather than treating every record as equal, we weight each contact according to how active and valuable they are to your organisation. We add up your contacts with those weightings applied, and that total is what your price is based on.

We bill in advance for the maximum Weighted Contacts reached in the preceding month (so your first month is always good value!). For annual billing we'll ask you to pick a band up-front based on past performance or forecast, and reconcile overages at the end of the year.

Active supporters & donors — count as 1
The people giving financially and driving your mission — one-off donors, regular givers, major donors, actively engaged supporters. They carry full weight.
Financially inactive contacts — count as 0.5
Past volunteers, lapsed supporters, newsletter sign-ups and prospects yet to give. They still have value, but you shouldn't pay full price to keep them on file.
Beneficiaries — count as 0.3
Programme participants, service users, grant recipients — the people you serve. Central to your work, but not the same as fundraising contacts, so weighted accordingly.

Pricing · questions you might be asking

A handful
of straight answers.

The kinds of questions you'd ask a salesperson, answered without one. If yours isn't here, get in touch — we'll add it.

What happens if I cross a band mid-month?

You're billed in advance for the maximum Weighted Contacts you hit in the previous month, so a single mid-month spike doesn't immediately raise your bill — but next month's invoice reflects the new band. We notify you before the change goes through.

Is there a per-seat fee?

No. Add every member of your team, plus trustees if you want them in there. Weighted Contacts is the only variable in our pricing model

What about the optional modules?

While we might release additional-cost modules in future, right now you'll get everything right out of the box.

Do you discount for very small charities?

We're committed to keeping our prices fair, and our process transparent. So we charge what we say we charge based on the data volumes you have.

What are the limitations of the free trial?

There aren't any! All of the features, all fully operational, so you can make an informed decision about whether it's right for you

What if I leave?

You get a full export — every record, every touchpoint, every consent event, every Gift Aid declaration. CSV plus JSON. We keep nothing after 30 days.

Do prices include VAT?

We know that most UK charities are not VAT-registered, so we provide the option to see prices bot inclusive and exclusive of VAT. For customers outside the UK, different tax conditions may apply - we'll work that through with you if you have any questions.
